Designer. Artist. Mother.
Never one to buy into the notion of the 'starving artist', I knew I would be making a successful career in art at a very young age. But I like to think that I have come a long way from creating crayola masterpieces on the underside of the coffee table (sorry, Mum).
I earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Design, as well as a diploma in Digital Media Technologies, from Vancouver Island University. My career began at local design firm in 2005, where I worked my way up from Junior Designer to Creative Director. I also worked as a front-end web developer, before launching Pye Design.
In 2014, Pye Design was born. Since then, I have had the opportunity to create countless corporate identities, websites, illustrations, and marketing campaigns for people and products all over the globe. My many years of designing mean I have several valuable connections with some of the Island's top professionals. This enables Pye Design to serve clients of all sizes. In recent years, Pye Design has grown from a business of one, to a network of some of the Island’s top creative professionals including designers, copywriters, photographers, web developers and marketers.
Pye Design has been recipient of several awards (including making the Top 20 Under 40 Awards 5 years in a row), and has a strong community presence. Personally, I am a proud member of the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, the Young Professionals of Nanaimo and I was a founding member of Nanaimo Business Connections. Through Pye Design, I have also been able to reach my community through coat drives, school supplies drives, sponsoring local sport teams, and even a tshirt campaign to raise awareness about violence against women.
I am proud to call Nanaimo home, where I live with my daughter. When not designing, I can usually be found in a book, out on the water, or exploring new trails!
